Map of Nova
The World of Nova is splintered into three continents. Aseria, The Ashire Isles, and Doth’ta. The Mendane Empire stretches over every corner of Aseria. In recent years, The Mendanes have started colonizing the other continents.
Silon, a large island off the southern coast of Aseria is technically the only part of the Aserian continent that has not been annexed into the Mendane Empire. It acts as an independent city state.
The Ashire isles is the home continent of the elves. The elves live almost exclusively here, while many half-human, half-elf people live in the Aserian continent.
Doth’ta is rough and brutal terrain that is the home continent of the Orcs. Over the years, more human settlers have been migrating there from Aseria due to the untouched resource rich lands. This has caused much tension between the two groups of people.
Map of Caspien
Located at the center of the continent of Aseria, Caspien acts as the capital of the Mendane Empire. There are a total of seven districts in the city all serving varying purposes.
The First District, or the heart of Caspien, sits above the rest of the districts on an elevated plateau. It is made of large black stone buildings with white granite quoins. The streets are paved with dark blue cobble stone and varying gardens and monuments are scattered throughout the district. Large towers are also planted throughout the streets of The First. These towers are often residences for the nobility of the Mendane Empire. Although most nobles have lands outside of the city, many have chosen to make a tower or manor their permanent residency.
The Market District sits in front of the gates leading into The First. Large stalls and buildings are positioned here, from which wayward travelers peddle their wares.
The Second District is the start of The Burrow. The Burrow refers to the rest of the districts that are entrenched in the one hundred foot deep ditch that circles the city. The Great Bridge sits above this districts and ushers all the visitors of the city across to the Market District. The Steps of Horondo sits on both sides of the bridge and lead down into the Second. This district is full of entertainers and taverns. Lower class citizens live here, but the ones that live in the second are some of the most better off peasantry in the Empire. It is filled with foreign dancers and singers, orators and fools.
The Fifth District is often called the thieves district. It rests in the northwestern partition of the city. This District is home to many conmen and thieves. While not as kept as the second district, the fifth still holds a decent quality of life, especially for those who have mastered the art of thievery.
The Sixth District is the largest district in the city and riddled with poverty. Many of the buildings are deteriorating from decay. Animal bones and human waste line the streets. The city’s sewer system often leads out into the alley ways where drug addled mindless men, addicted to Red Lavender, wander.
The Third District is known as the bureaucratic district of the city. It is the smallest, containing only a few buildings. The Loft is a large marble building that acts as the center piece of the district. Much of the tedious and bureaucratic government organizations use it as a headquarters, this includes tax collectors, high ranking guards, maintenance crews, and so on. The other buildings here are restaurants to be used by the nobility and important visitors to the city.
The Fourth District is the only other entrance to the city besides the main gate. This district leads out into the harbor where military and trading vessels wade in Lake Poro. The Guard headquarters and the Imperial Prison are located here.
